Who has the Advantage? - LPL 3/20 2AM ET Slate (3 Games)

With all the leagues coming back soon, there will be a lot of stuff to cover. Hope you are all buckled in if ur in full degen mode because there's plenty more video games you have never heard of to bet on! Let's get into LPL.

LNG Esports (-200) vs Rogue Warriors (+145)

LNG have looked pretty good, although they are probably one of the teams I am higher on than I should be. Their individual players are all pretty good, nothing crazy but pretty good. The Light experiment was a failed one, as he played pretty poorly in both games he played, even though he won one. Asura back in is probably the optimal move for them. While they did lose a game last time out to a winless V5, I feel like they got pranked in champ select. V5 is known for doing some weird stuff and with a sub ADC they got steamrolled. Once Asura was subbed back in for G3, V5 still tried to be funky with Pyke/Neeko, but against a more unified LNG the cheese didn't work.

Rogue Warriors have actually been, dare I say, decent? They are almost perennially a dumpster fire, with ZWuji doing his best to escape the madness, but this season they have played pretty well! WeiYan and Crazy have both been good in their time playing, and they took a game off IG and beat EDG. Now keep in mind IG were probably trolling that game, and EDG has not looked good themselves, but a win is a win. I expect this to be a good measure of how good RW is, because LNG is a decent team with their full roster playing. I am not fully convinced yet.

Advantage to : LNG

Players to watch (LNG): Flandre, Maple, Asura
Players to watch (RW): ZWuji, WeiYan, Crazy

This is a good game to target for GPP. Most people will be using JDG/RNG in a more optimal safe build, but this game will almost be what I expect to be the chalk in GPPs. I think LNG is still usable in cash/SE but why use them when there are safer picks on the slate that aren't that much more expensive. Maybe the small extra savings could get you somewhere you like a little more, but thats up to you. RW is strictly a GPP play for me tonight, but they are a damn good one. Expect RNG lines paired with either side of this match as a common build tonight.

JD Gaming (-335) vs EDG (+235)

This match is not as close as the odds depict. JDG have been playing well, and are on a roll as of now. They did drop a game to Vici, but I probably underrated Vici so it shouldn't be that unexpected. They have swept their other 4 series wins, and something similar may just happen tonight as well. Kanavi, Loken, and Yagao have been elite this season and I expect that to continue here.

EDG are subbing in Aodi into their starting lineup tonight, and from what I remember he was on Vici Gaming a while ago, and that team was trash. Is it safe to assume he was also trash by association? Maybe. Either way I don't think subbing him in will drastically change anything, and xiaoxiang's Fiora solo won them a game against RW, so the timing is a little odd. EDG are still adjusting to their new team and coaches, and even at full strength with this roster, they aren't that good. Scout may have some games of brilliance, and Hope has been pretty good this season, but the rest of the roster isn't exactly elite.

Advantage to : JDG

Players to watch (JDG): Kanavi, Loken, Yagao

JDG has a higher chance than I think to 2-0 this match, and while most people will flock to RNG as their main core in a GPP lineup paired with someone from the first game, I think JDG is a good alternative that could help differentiate you from them, with similar upside.

Royal Never Give Up (-650) vs VG (+380)

Here we go everyone, the staple game for your lineups. I am not doing you a favour by telling you that this is the game almost everyone will be focusing on. They see the odds and they will go from there. That being said, RNG look like a top LPL team to me, and their roster is very solid. They have not skipped a beat without Uzi in the lineup, and Betty is performing admirably in his absence. Let the chalk consume you tonight once again.

Vici do not look as bad as I originally thought they would be, and I admit I most likely undersold them a little. They are bringing back Aix and Forge tonight, both whom have played already this season. Aix/Chieftain are both bottom tier junglers and Forge is okay. Zeka was playing pretty well which is interesting as to why they subbed him, but it shouldn't make a difference in the end.

Advantage to : RNG

Players to watch (RNG): Langx, Betty, Xiaohu

Do you hear that sound? Earthquake perhaps? No, unfortunately it is the sound of the masses running to get a piece of the chalk pie. Expect RNG to be the highest owned team of the slate, paired with LNG/RW in the first game in GPPs, and the cash lads playing them with JDG.

Overall this slate is rather boring. All the new E-sport gurus out there will think they have some lock-down on the slate but really it's nothing special. Pick your chalk, pick a side in the first game, and send your thoughts and prayers to those who deviate from the standard build tonight.
