LOL eSports – CBLOL Notes and Breakdown 6/7 12pm ET

It's been a long time hasn't it? 6/7 CBLOL Slate 12pm ET (4 Games) ITZ (+134) vs FLA (-180) Expected starting lineups: ITZ: Tay, Shini, Envy, Mills, RedBert FLA: Bankai, Ranger, Goku, Luskka, Reven Even without their full roster playing, FLA still showed fight against favourites PNG. As expected, Goku and Ranger were still making plays and helped FLA get ahead early in the game. This team is expected to be one of the top teams in the CBLOL this split, so showing a good performance against a league favourite without their full roster is a good sign. There were clear signs that they were not fully on the same page however. They made some mistakes in the mid game and ended up losing off of it. Notably they went for an ill-advised Baron call and got heavily punished. That was the beginning of the end for them. ITZ and FUR played a very slow paced game with not much actual action for most of the game. FUR had a large lead early game and even managed to get the dragon soul...

Who Has the Advantage? - LPL 3/24 5AM ET Slate (2 Games)

Apologies for the lack of blog posts lately, but with the large amount of slates this weekend I had to focus on that first before the blog. I will try to be more consistent whenever smaller slates or less slates exist. We are back tonight though with a very interesting 2 game slate. Before I say anything, all 4 teams are in play and they are all basically evenly matched. Let's get into it. WE (-215) vs RW (+155) First things first, Teacherma is playing again for WE. He wasn't particularly good in their last set, but I would have to see a bit more from him before judging him. WE so far have only taken wins against bad teams(V5/DMO) and VG. They have lost every game to a good team. When comparing the two teams as far as players are concerned, WE is probably a little better, but really not by much. This game is very close to 50/50. RW are not a great team, but they have been rather impressive lately. Their substitutions seemed to have made them better, w...

Who has the Advantage? - 3/21 LPL 2AM ET Slate (3 Games)

Amazing upset night yesterday, shit hit the fan, but LNG was great in their victory I suppose. Let's see how tonight goes. OMG (-240) vs DMO (+170) OMG have been pretty good this season, and I am pretty impressed by them. Icon and Curse have got some pretty good teammates now and this has really enabled them as stars to take over more games. I am impressed with H4cker's play as well, he didn't look great last season but has improved by the looks of it. Smlz is a consistent ADC who plays his role effectively and does the damage he needs to. Dominus had my trust last time out against WE and got promptly destroyed. I think it is time to forget about to old DMO who were a playoff team, and focus on the now. They are playing like a bottom tier team and xiye was really a disappointment. Xiaowei is in for this game, and he has looked better than xiye in the games that he's played, but it is not a swing big enough to win them the series in my eyes. Advantage to...

Who has the Advantage? - LEC 3/20 1PM ET Slate (5 Games)

LEC 3/20 1PM ET (5 Games) Notes Mad Lions (-550) vs SK Gaming (+335) First thing to note is that SK is starting their Academy League top laner, Ventair. I haven’t watched much of his gameplay, but from his statistics he is pretty average. I wouldn’t expect this to be much of an upgrade if at all over Sacre. SK are still SK, and aren't particularly good as is. Mad Lions are in the logjam of teams in the LEC fighting for playoff positioning, that fact will be brought up a lot for many of the favourites on this slate, as most of these games are important for standings purposes. Mad Lions are no doubt the better team here and should win this relatively easily. Advantage to: Mad Lions Players to watch: Carzzy, Humanoid, Kaiser FC Schalke 04 (+225) vs Misfits Gaming (-315) Schalke has been better since their Forgiven experiment ended. Innaxe has come in and done a solid job for them. Abbedagge is still one of the players with the most carry potential in th...

Who has the Advantage? - LPL 3/20 2AM ET Slate (3 Games)

With all the leagues coming back soon, there will be a lot of stuff to cover. Hope you are all buckled in if ur in full degen mode because there's plenty more video games you have never heard of to bet on! Let's get into LPL. LNG Esports (-200) vs Rogue Warriors (+145) LNG have looked pretty good, although they are probably one of the teams I am higher on than I should be. Their individual players are all pretty good, nothing crazy but pretty good. The Light experiment was a failed one, as he played pretty poorly in both games he played, even though he won one. Asura back in is probably the optimal move for them. While they did lose a game last time out to a winless V5, I feel like they got pranked in champ select. V5 is known for doing some weird stuff and with a sub ADC they got steamrolled. Once Asura was subbed back in for G3, V5 still tried to be funky with Pyke/Neeko, but against a more unified LNG the cheese didn't work. Rogue Warriors have actually been...

Who has the Advantage? - 3/19 LPL Slate 2 AM ET (3 Games)

LPL LPL LPL LPL Team WE (WE) vs Dominus Esports (DMO) First important thing to note is that Teacherma is playing in place of Plex for WE. He is a rather unknown player with only a few preseason games under his belt, and they were rather average performances to say the least. Most people are just jumping on WE again, and I remain with the fact they are severely overrated. They are a very average team who have a couple great performances and a few terrible ones. With a pretty unimpressive mid lane roster change I like Dominus in this spot. HOWEVER, there isn't a huge gap between the two teams, but in a close matchup like this, the little things help you to pick a side. Dominus has had a deceptively weak start this season. You look at their record and think they are terrible, but they have a tough stretch of games so far. They were a decent team last year, finishing 6th in the regular season during Spring, and that roster is still mainly intact. Xiye was, in theory, a go...

Who has the Advantage? - LPL 3/18 2AM ET Slate (3 Games)

Reminder that cheat sheets are now on DFSArmy, as I have joined their team for esports. LNG Esports (LNG) vs Victory Five (V5) First thing to note is that Light is subbed in for Asura for LNG. Not a huge change in my opinion of the outcome of the match, but it is worth noting for DFS. LNG have been playing pretty well, and I expected them to be a decent team with the changes they made this offseason. They took down BLG and honestly V5 are horrible so they should win here even with a sub ADC. V5 are just horrific. Definitely the worst team in the league as of now, with little redeeming qualities. At least on other "bad" teams like Vici and LGD, they have some decent players (iBoy, Kramer). With V5, I really got nothing. Until they show any signs of improvement, this team remains on the do not touch list for me. Advantage to : LNG Players to watch (LNG): Flandre, Maple. Xx LNG aren't that expensive compared to how I imagined, since they are fac...

Who has the Advantage? - LPL 3/16 5AM ET Slate (2 Games)

Now that I have joined DFSArmy, my cheat sheets will be over there from now on. On the blog I will write some of my thought about the slate in general, as well as plays I like and the specific games. Rogue Warriors (RW) vs Edward Gaming (EDG) RW are coming off of a very competitive series against IG in which they probably should have won. A couple mistakes and lapses in focus led to an IG win. They did show promise here however and ZWuji continues to show he is a star. WeiYan seems to be an improvement over Haro as well. Overall they look better than before all of these roster changes, but they lack the consistency as of now. We need to see more from them before firmly placing an opinion on the team. The game against IG looked good, but you never know how IG will play on a day and they were pretty poor on that slate. EDG are a mixed bag and continue to be confusing with this new roster. They have shown a terrible showing (vs SN) and an impressive one (vs ES). It is hard ...

Click to enlarge. Click to enlarge Tonight's slate is an interesting one, with 2 heavy implied favourites and one close game. Most people in cash will just pick the two favourites and be done with it, and that may be a successful strategy for those who are not willing to take on some risk. The value tonight lies in the OMG vs BLG game, picking the correct side here saves you a ton of salary and can make for much higher upside lineups. If you are okay with taking on a higher amount of risk in your lineups and make a call on that game, it can be a game changer tonight. Should be interesting games to watch.
